Sorrowful Mysteries for Priests

The Agony in the Garden:

By the merits of Jesus’ Agony in the Garden, I pray that all Catholic deacons, priests, bishops, and cardinals—especially (Name)—are renewed with a spirit of prayer, that they will not fall asleep from spiritual apathy. I pray they receive the strength to stand up against those who seek the death of Catholicism.

The Scourging at the Pillar:

By the merits of Jesus’ Scourging at the Pillar, I pray that all Catholic deacons, priests, bishops, and cardinals—especially (Name)—receive the grace needed to put to death the desires of the flesh. I pray they are renewed with a deep spirit of sacrifice and self-denial.

The Crowning with Thorns:

By the merits of Jesus’ crowning with thorns, I pray that all Catholic deacons, priests, bishops, and cardinals—especially (Name)—are renewed with a spirit of humility. I pray they receive the grace needed to remain faithful to the Church amidst mockery and verbal assaults.

The Carrying of the Cross:

By the merits of Jesus’ carrying of the Cross, I pray that all Catholic deacons, priests, bishops, and cardinals—especially (Name)—are renewed with a spirit of perseverance. I pray they receive the grace needed to continue walking in the Catholic faith and that each one meets the Blessed Mother Mary, face-to-face, along the way.

The Crucifixion:

By the merits of Jesus’ Crucifixion, I pray that all Catholic deacons, priests, bishops, and cardinals—especially (Name)—receive the grace needed to surrender to the Father’s Will, even if it requires they become a victim soul. I pray they are renewed with a spirit of fidelity to the one, holy Catholic Church.
